AKAR is one of the world-known and preferred suppliers with the asynchronous (geared DAK series) and synchronous (gearless SMT series) machine motors it designs and produces for use in elevator systems. AKAR, which has continuously improved its service and quality standards since its establishment in 1985, is known for its pioneering identity in the Turkish Elevator Industry.
AKAR completed CE certification for AKAR BELTSYS®, an elevator system driven by belts instead of ropes, in 2013 and added it to its product range.
AKAR factory, which is one of the leading manufacturing facilities in the sector in terms of its architecture, infrastructure and technologies, has a closed area of 42000 m2. AKAR also has Turkey's first elevator test tower, which has three actively working elevator shafts.
AKAR has a production capacity of 10,000 machine-motors per year.
AKAR manufactures elevator machines and motors in complied with EN 81-20/50: 2020 Elevator Standards and has the following system certifications;
• ISO 9001: 2015 - Quality Management System,
• ISO 14001: 2015 - Environmental Management System and
• ISO 45001: 2015 - Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
AKAR is providing service to many domestic and foreign customers and exports 60% of its production to more than 40 countries around the world, including Italy, England, Czech Republic, Romania, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Greece and Russia.

Our company was founded by Rıfat Demiröz with the principle of "Human Safety is Priority" in 1985 in Bayrampaşa, Istanbul.

Production of the First Asynchronous Elevator Machine
AKAR first started production with A Series (asynchronous) machine and motors.

Starting Production at the Kavaklı Factory, Büyükçekmece
Our factory in Kavaklı was opened for higher volume production. The first CNC machines were purchased and modernization efforts were initiated in production processes.

Participation in Elevator Exhibition, Mecidiyeköy, Istanbul.
AKAR participated in the Istanbul Elevator Exhibition, which was the first meeting of Turkish Elevator Industry representatives.

Improvement of Production Technology and Export Capabilities
By renewing its production technology, AKAR integrated automation systems to its manufacture processes and as a result, it succeeded to improve its export capacity. AKAR managed to export 40% of its production to a total of 19 countries in 3 continents.

Turkey's First Compact Elevator Machine Motor Production
AKAR produced and brought to the market the first DAK series compact elevator machine motor.

Participation in the First International Fair
AKAR exhibited its products on an international platform for the first time at the Asansör Istanbul Fair.

Participation in the First International Exhibition in Europe
AKAR represented Turkey on the international platform for the first time at the Interlift - Germany Fair in 1997.

First Safety Gear and Speed Governor Production
AKAR added Turkey's first CE certificated safety gear and speed governor to its product range.
2003
Acrobat (ACR135 Series) elevator machine engine production
AKAR designed and produced Turkey's first and only vertical compact elevator machine-motor, which allows mounting in three different ways.
2004
Foundation of Selimpaşa Factory Complex, Istanbul
Investing in the future, the foundations of the new factory in Selimpaşa Industrial Zone were laid.
2005
Turkey's first gearless (synchronous) machine motor design and production
Turkey's first gearless (synchronous) machine engine design project was deemed suitable to be supported by TUBITAK. Following the successful completion of the project, the preparation phase for mass production was completed in 2007 and the SMT series gearless (synchronous) elevator motor was put on sale.

Start of Production in Selimpaşa Factory Complex
Production has started at the Selimpaşa Factory, which is one of the leading production facilities in the sector in terms of its architecture, infrastructure and technologies. This facility has Turkey's first elevator test tower with three actively operating elevator shafts.

AKAR declared 2009 as the year of sectoral training and carried out training sessions in 13 different cities with its expert trainers.

AKAR completed the CE certification of AKAR BELTSYS® - Belt Driven Gearless System in 2013 and offered it for sale at the Asansör Istanbul Exhibition.

Celebrating the 30th Year with New Product SMT250AC
AKAR introduced the SMT250AC motor to the market as its 30th Year Special Product with the speed of 4m/sec and capacity of 6500 kg.

Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management Certifications
ISO14001 and ISO45001 certificates are obtained as a result of the work carried out with the awareness of the importance of sustainability.

Investment Incentive Project
AKAR has initiated an investment incentive project from the Ministry of Industry with the aim of technological investments to be made to the existing factory building and the commissioning of an additional production facility.

Solar Energy (SPP) Investment
AKAR launched the SPP Investment Project, focusing on providing sustainable energy without harming the environment and preserving natural resources in energy production processes.
